■ Material: Body / 100% Igusa (Rush Grass)

Approximately 80-90% of the rush grass available on the market is cultivated overseas, and in most cases, the cultivation methods and pesticide usage are unclear. Soejima Isao Shoten products use 100% domestic healthy rush grass cultivated with minimal pesticide use.

Soejima Isao Shoten's rush grass products are safe and secure items that have preserved Japan's wonderful traditional techniques for many years.

Benefits of Rush Grass
[Mold and Antibacterial Properties]
Can suppress the proliferation of substances harmful to the human body to some extent. It has the effect of suppressing the growth of bacteria such as E. coli O-157, Legionella bacteria which cause pneumonia, and microorganisms that produce rot odor on the soles of the feet.
*Please note that this is different from sterilization, which kills bacteria.

[Dehumidifying and Moisturizing Properties]
Absorbs moisture when humidity is high and releases it when humidity is low.

[Air Purification Capability]
Adsorbs and removes harmful substances in the air, such as ammonia, which causes odor, and formaldehyde, which causes sick house syndrome.

[Sound Absorption]
Rush grass has a sponge-like structure. Therefore, it has elasticity and absorbs sounds such as footsteps. If laid on the second floor, it can reduce the sound that echoes to the first floor.

[Relaxation Effect]
The scent of rush grass contains vanillin, which is also found in vanilla essence. This is said to have a calming effect on the mind and spirit.
